Belmin Okanović
Belmin Okanović completed his Master's degree at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf under Prof. Joaquín Clerch, where he also earned his Bachelor's degree in 2022 with top marks and special distinction. He has given numerous performances across Europe, including concerts in Germany, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Poland, and the Balkans.
Belmin has won over 30 prizes at international competitions, most notably first prize at the 28th International Guitar Festival in Mottola (Italy), which led to the recording of his debut CD in early 2023. In November 2023, he was awarded first prize at the prestigious Miguel Llobet Competition in Barcelona.
During his studies, he received a Deutschlandstipendium scholarship, which supported his education for three years. In 2019, he was selected as a soloist by the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation, performing in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW).
In his home country, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belmin received multiple awards, including recognition from the Federal Ministry of Science and Culture as the most successful music school student in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the 2011/2012 school year.
Originally from Tuzla, Belmin began studying guitar at the age of eight. He plays a guitar made by Paco Santiago Marín (Spain).
